Hi, we're Helen, a registered occupational therapist, and Philip, a professional educator, coach, and mentor.

Welcome to our website. We have taught evidence-based tai chi and qigong since our start-up in 2016.

In our careers we each have worked in a range of roles:

Leading and managing teams in both public and third sector settings;

Worked within the NHS and adult mental health services;

Teaching in higher education and practice education;

Curriculum development and assessment;

Consulting in management, leadership and business support;

Quality improvement in health care;

Coaching, mentoring and training of students and professionals at all levels.

Philip Sheridan

Founder and Director

Philip (Phil) most recently worked at the School of Medicine, University of Leeds, as an educator, facilitator and mentor on the five year MBChB Medicine and Surgery course as well as on various post-graduate leadership courses and curriculum development.

He worked close to 20 years in Children’s Services as a manager, team leader, practice educator, children’s therapist and family worker. He is a respected coach and mentor, a published poet, blogger and most recently a speaker at TEDxKeighley.

Phil has studied and practised taijiquan, qigong, and other martial arts from an applied perspective over nearly 40 years.

He is a strength coach qualified with British Weightlifting and British Powerlifting, a qualified health and exercise nutrition coach, and Boxercise instructor.

In 2002 he survived a near fatal road accident leaving him with multiple injuries and the eventual amputation of his right leg.

Helen Parsons

Founder and Director

Helen is a HCPC registered Occupational Therapist. MSc Occupational Therapy and BSc Sport, Health, Exercise and Nutrition.

She is passionate about evidence-based practice for supporting people with their health and wellness.

Helen has practised and studied tai Chi and qigong for over ten years. She is a Board Certified Instructor with the Tai Chi for Health Institute.

She works with Phil coaching older adults as a British Powerlifting Level 1 Coach, Kettlebell instructor, and is a qualified Boxercise instructor.

When she's not working Helen loves getting outdoors, Brazilian Jiu-jitsu and gardening.
